We got a chance to chat with Chris Hartley, our data manager about his work at Renew as well as the lessons and values that drive him. Since Chris works with data it makes sense that one fun fact about him is that he uses an iterative process to control variables, provide consistency, and improve outcomes—when he bakes bread!

What is the most important career lesson you’ve learned thus far?
“I’ve learned to be flexible, be curious, and always have a backup plan.”
What is your proudest moment at Renew Indianapolis?
“I take pride on an ongoing basis in providing a clear, transparent, and efficient process to return vacant and abandoned property to productive use.”
What does a typical day look like for you?
“I work on building new functionality into our systems, synchronize our various data systems, analyze data around vacancy and abandonment and generally make sure everything is running like a well-oiled machine.”
